Bullying in the workplace
The bill gives new rights to employees in relation to bullying in the workplace. Employees can now apply to the Fair Work Commission for an order to stop bullying where the behaviour has been:
- Repeated and unreasonable;
- Directed towards a specific worker or a group of workers at the workplace;
- The cause of a risk to health and safety.
Changes to family flexibility arrangements
The new bill introduces a number of measures that will improve employee flexibility around their work arrangements. Parents are now allowed to take more unpaid parental leave over the same period, and pregnant women may request a transfer to a safer working environment for the period of their pregnancy.
